StereoWebMap allow us to see 3D dimension cartographic. StereoWebMap is based on the technique of stereoscopic imaging
StereoWebMap has two important sides:
» Server side: the server is based on the WMS (Web Map Service) specification provided by the OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium).
» Client side: clients submit a standard WMS request to the server in order to obtain a map. There are two basic clients types: heavy clients, like desktop aplications, and light clients, like JavaScript development. All of them can show the 3 dimension images through anaglific mode but only StereoWebMap Java aplication is able to show images through Real Stereo.
If you wish to try out StereoWebMap on your own computer, you can use this section.

The Stereowebmap sever can directly return images in anaglyphics without the need to generate them in the client. Thanks to this, through JavaScript clients can be developed in order to allow stereo view in anaglyphic mode, without the need for previous downloads or installations. Some examples of this type of viewfinder are the next:
The anaglyphic versions are suitable for the conventional computers which dont have the active vision device available. In these versions the images are in 3D, shown through anaglyphic. To view them correctly you need anaglyphic glasses, ideally red-cyan (if not red-blue). You can choose between 2 screen resolutions. We recommend the use if 1024 x 768; except for computers with less power, lower screen resolution or a slower internet connection.
If your system doesnt reach these standards, then you should consult the FAQ, in order to find a solution to your problem.
The real stereo version is used for professional systems, which have omponent suitable for the use of stereo vision. For exaple LCD glasses. If StereoWebMap, doesnt detect any such application, it will automatically show the images in 3D, anaglyphic mode.
You can choose between two screen resolutions. It is recommended you use 1024x768, accept for computers with less power, low screen resolution or a slow internet connection.
If your system doesnt meet these requirements, please consult the FAQ, to try and find the solution to the problem.
